In the face of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and subsequent wide-reaching sanctions, the UK’s most elite schools and universities face heightened sanctions exposure and money laundering risks. Political calls grow for further scrutiny of parents and sources of wealth used for tuition payments and donations are intensifying.
In response, private schools and universities need to institute robust on-going monitoring of fee payers, tech-driven screening of future payers and donors, and strong procedures for escalating concerns.
