Dickon is a former bank CEO and ex-Accenture alumnus. Over his 25-year career in banking and technology, Dickon has used, evaluated and purchased many competitor compliance systems and has led numerous programmes to digitise core banking operations.
As the founder of Themis, he is determined to tackle and prevent the significant repercussions financial crime has on people, on businesses and on the environment. He is a passionate believer in using technology and AI both as a force for good and to democratise due diligence, so it is something everyone can do easily, as part of an everyday habit, both at work and at home. In this way, it becomes virtually impossible for criminals to operate in the shadow economy and profit from their illicit activities without being detected and reported. Dickon has lived and worked in the MENA region for the last 20 years, with Barclays Bank, Abu Dhabi Finance (a Mubadala new build), FAB UAE (Formally National Bank of Abu Dhabi) and laterally as the CEO of FAB UK.
Dickon is on the Steering Committee for Global Organisations, a social and economic development partnership between the Governments of the UAE, India and Japan. He is also a member of the UAE - UK Business Council helping to promote greater trade and investment between the two countries. Dickon is a member of Transparency International and holds an ICA International Diploma in Anti Money Laundering and a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Edinburgh. Dickon is a leading voice on the international stage promoting the safe use of AI and technology as a force for good in the fight against financial crime.
